how to make chinese chicken rice



 Chinese chicken rice recipe that you can use:


Ingredients:


1 whole chicken, about 1.5kg

3 cups jasmine rice                                                                                   



3 1/2 cups chicken stock

3 slices ginger

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1/4 teaspoon white pepper

2 stalks spring onion, chopped

Salt to taste

Instructions:


Rinse the chicken and pat it dry with paper towels. Rub salt all over the chicken, including the cavity.


Fill a large pot with enough water to cover the chicken, and bring it to a boil. Add the chicken and the ginger slices, and let it simmer for about 30-40 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through. Remove the chicken from the pot and set it aside to cool.


In a rice cooker, wash the rice and add 3 1/2 cups of chicken stock. Add the garlic and vegetable oil, and stir well. Turn on the rice cooker and cook the rice according to the manufacturer's instructions.


While the rice is cooking, debone the chicken and shred the meat into bite-sized pieces. Discard the bones and skin.


In a small bowl, mix together the oyster sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, and white pepper. Set aside.


Once the rice is cooked, fluff it up with a fork and add the spring onion. Mix well.


To serve, arrange the shredded chicken over the rice and pour the sauce over it. Serve hot.
